The technological basis for the products of Visiomed forms the organic vision technology. This worldwide unique technology was developed within an international cooperation of a number of research facilities and companies, who all deal with computer image processing.

Protected / trademarked by numerous technological and applicational oriented patents, the used organic vision technology is the technological plattform of the medical image processing systems of Visiomed, which make an “artificial vision of computers” within medical problems possible.


Organic Vision

The scientific foundation of the organic vision technology are the research of the Institute of neuroinformatics of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. By foundation of the Centre of neuroinformatics GmbH in the year 1997 this technology was used for the first time for commercial products.The company was founded 1993 as spin-off of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, by Prof. Dr. Christoph von der Malsburg und Prof. Dr. Werner von Seelen.

The organic vision technology is based on the use of innovative methods of neuroinformatic in combination with the most modern image processing and information technologies.

In recognition of the worldwide landmark of the organic vision technology the innovation award of the German economy was received. The Körber-Award of European economy was awarded to Prof. Dr. Christoph von der Malsburg.
